About this site
In today’s world, where fabrication equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters are available at low prices, the range of manufacturing possible for each individual has dramatically expanded. The term “DIY” has long since taken root, and now people can design and create what they want to make freely, using free CAD and 3D modeling software.
However, even if you have a 3D printer and software and the tools to create something, understanding how to design it is a different challenge. You can imagine it in your head, but basic experience and knowledge are essential in putting it into actual shapes and dimensions. It is a very time-consuming task to start reading technical books on engineering and mathematics to gain this knowledge, and I thought it would be helpful to have a concise summary of only the information I want when I search the website.
This website is mainly intended for various moving mechanisms as a memorandum of my own study. It is intended to provide basic information on design and manufacturing methods based on the assumption that they can be made using equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters, which are not for industrial use and can be used by ordinary people who do not have specialized knowledge. The basic information is summarized here.
